What is Futerkon
Futerkon is the longest-running furry convention in Poland. For the past 18 years, it has been a gathering place for furries from all across the country. Whether you draw, love fursuits, play games, or just want to have a great time, Futerkon is a place you won’t want to miss. We’re a colorful, cheerful bunch of wonderfully enthusiastic people who simply love furry. Among us you’ll find artists, science-minded folks, doctors, and students, to name just a few. Thanks to that diversity, everyone can find something for themselves here. Openness comes naturally to us, so it’s easy to connect with people – and who knows, maybe even make friendships that last for years. Futerkon offers a rich program filled with panels, contests, outdoor games, open-air activities, special guests, and parties that go on until sunrise. As always, Futerkon is all-inclusive – you won’t have to worry about anything once you’re here, except maybe mosquitoes (or beer).
A Bit of History
The first edition, still under the name Futrzakon, took place in Dzierżązna (try to spell it!) on September 26–28, 2008. We started small, with just 37 furries from across Poland. And from then on, we only kept growing. In 2012, we decided to rename the convention to Futerkon to highlight a new quality and a new approach to organizing the event. By the seventh edition, attendance had already passed 100 people. In 2016, we moved from the Łódź region to the Świętokrzyskie region, taking advantage of forests and locations far from roads and noise. In 2020, we switched from holiday cottages to a hotel – the first Futerkon in Ameliówka welcomed 180 attendees, and in 2022 there were already more than 230.
Now, in response to your requests, we’re changing locations once again. We’ve returned to central Poland, to the Łódź region, to the village of Ossa.
Over the years, we’ve visited a different world with each edition. We became pirates in the world of seas and oceans, spent nights in atomic bunkers (not literally, of course), faced off against the mafia in Chicago, and even traveled through space. Every edition brings a brand-new world and a chance to create unforgettable memories.
Since 2017, interdimensional travelers had been accompanied by the Time Travel Machine – a marvel of unknown origin. As Asterix once explained, it disrupted the thaumic field, causing distortions in the astral-physical space-time continuum, which transpositioned furries into other worlds. That machine, however, was destroyed during one of our most recent journeys into the world of magic and wizards. There, we learned how to travel through time and space on our own, using our own magical powers. We defeated the Phantom organization and its hidden leader, Professor X, who had been using Golden Fang like a puppet. We also defeated the Storyteller, who summoned Japanese yokai spirits to Mąchocice Kapitulne.
